About Nathaniel
Big Rock Woodcraft was established in 2019 by Nathaniel Potter with the help and support of his family. Nathaniel is 28 and has been a woodworker and craftsman for a decade, always looking to gain knowledge and pursue excellence in fine woodworking. Nathaniel and his wife, Raina, moved to a thirty-acre ranch outside of Bend, Oregon in 2016. A stone’s throw from Smith Rock State Park, they have since named the property, Big Rock Ranch, for obvious reasons to those who have visited; outside the back door of their farmhouse stands a 300 ft. rock outcropping that towers over their property, providing constant beauty and inspiration. Nathaniel seized the opportunity to build a large shop on the land which is now outfitted with the equipment and capacity to build beautiful woodworks, all under the Big Rock. Nathaniel specializes in building furniture that stands the test of time, combining traditional joinery techniques with modern equipment to create beautiful, lasting works in styles ranging anywhere from Mid-Century Modern to Farmhouse. Nathaniel also builds cabinets to the same standards of quality, specializing in a clean and classic Shaker design.
